Who We Are
“I always loved feeding street dogs in Mumbai, or help injured birds and squirrels near my home in Westford, MA”, says Shivay, the 14 year old co-founder of Tako. “When my pet parrot Taco fell sick, while we were out of town, and the animal shelter did not do enough to get hm treated, he died before we could even reach back home”, continues Shivay. “That is when I urged my dad, who is an equal enthusiast when it comes to loving and caring for dogs in particular, to start something of our own and really help animals in need”.
“I grew up bringing dogs from the street in my hometown in India as I grew up”, says Anirban, Shivay’s dad, and co-founder. “Some were allowed to stay back with us, at the intervention of my dad, and some were not”, chuckles Anirban. “I guess apple does not fall far from the tree”. Anirban continues “Funny thing was Jagruti, my wife, who was initially dead against getting an pets, ended up being the one taking initiative to bring a puppy home after Tako died and has been an equal inspiration behind forming Tako”.
Our Story
At our NGO, our primary objective is to assist distressed, injured animals and help them find a home. We are dedicated to ensuring that these vulnerable creatures receive the medical care they need and deserve. In order to further our cause, we actively seek partnerships with other organizations that share our passion for animal welfare.

In addition to collaboration, raising funds is an integral part of our mission.
